Biography

Roger Alfred Dart was born September 13th 1882 in Seaforth, Huron, Ontario, Canada, twin to William Herbert. ^[1] He moved to Manitoba with his parents. ^[2] In 1906, he appears to be called Roy and was a C.P.R. brakeman living with his family at 108 Charles, Winnipeg. living there also were his mother, Annie, Etta, Henry H. and William H. ^[3] In 1908 he was a Manitoba resident. Roger Alfred Dart and Alma Lochead were married January 1st 1908 in Elgin, Ontario. ^[4] They lived in Winnipeg. ^[5] By 1916, Roger was general yard master for the CPR living at 3913 4th St W., Calgary, Alberta. ^[6] About 1929, he became yardmaster at their larger Ogden Yards, and continued there until he retired in October 1947. ^[7] In 1953, Roger was secretary treasurer for Inglewood Golf Club, Calgary. ^[8] He was still in that office and had taken on presidency of the C.P.R. Golf Association was vice president of the Calgary Golf Association. Rodger died 14 Jun 1966 in Calgary and was buried in Queen’s Park Cemetery there. ^{[9] [10]}
