I don't know much about my family tree yet.
I am not a genealogist, but have excellent references put together by my grandparents telling the stories/naming the people of family lines coming to Canada as royalists and up to the 1890's. My particular interest is in learning places my ancestors traveled to/through-to understand my own family ties to colonization, and which Nations my family impacted in their migrations. My own work focuses on then learning the plants of different bio-regions, to understand the colours and fibres worn as an ongoing Ancestral cloth, slow clothing project.

Biography
I am an artist living on the west coast of Canada. My focus in ancestral research folds into my creative practice as a textile maker and wearer. Looking to better understand places of departure and places of arrival... looking into the clothing of place. What were the fibres, colours, plant fibres, sheep breeds and weaving structures my ancestors where wearing hundreds of years ago? Who did they displace on their arrival, and what where the plants and animals of those places that those communities had been in relationship with? this informs my own plant relationships as I grow and make my own garments and informs my own decolonization work. I am very new to geneology work, my grandparents Marion (White) Davies and Tom Davies did much research in the 60's to 80's and it is their research papers and notes to the family from which I am working.

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.
