Biography

Mark Dodge was born on October 21, 1694, in Beverly, Essex, Province of Massachusetts. He was the son of Edward Dodge and Mary Haskell.^[1]

Mark Dodge (of Beverly) married Sarah Dodge (of Wenham) November 29, 1717 in Beverly, Essex, Province of Massachusetts (or possibly in Wenham, Massachusetts). Their marriage was recorded in both Beverly and Wenham, but they were married by "Rev. John Chipman of Beverly" so they were probably married in Beverly. ^{[2] [3]} Sarah was the daughter of Josiah and Sarah (Fisk) Dodge. Sarah and Mark were first cousins once removed.
Sarah Dodge passed away December 14, 1718, just 2 weeks after the birth of her only daughter Eleanor.

Mark Dodge (of Beverly) married Elizabeth Woodbury (of Beverly) on January 25, 1722 in Beverly, Essex, Province of Massachusetts. ^{[4] [5]} Elizabeth was the daughter of Isaac Woodbury "of Ipswich". Note that one record shows the date as January 25, 1721 but that is probably based on the old date system.

According to the "Genealogy of the Dodge family, of Essex county, Mass. 1629-1898", "The will of Mark Dodge of Beverly, dated 9 Oct 1765, proved 2 April 1787, mentions ....." so he apparently died in Beverly before April 2, 1787. ^[6]
