Hi Jack and Ron...I just wanted to introduce myself. I am a distant cousin of yours as we are both ancestors of Marcus Doss and Elizabeth Taylor. Thanks for adding me to the Trusted List for the Doss Family! My mother's mother was Sarah Adaline Doss 1896-1944 who married Johnnie Calvin Brown. They lived in Arkansas and Bastrop, LA where I was born. Mom was the youngest of 7 children and both her parents died of cancer when she was 12 and 16. Sarah Adaline and John Brown were my Grandparents. Sarah Adaline's father was Robert Marcus Doss 1852 -1931...my Great Grandfather. Great Grandfather Robert Marcus Doss's father was William Jackson Doss 1817-1901....my Great Great Grandfather....who was the son of Marcus Doss 1785-1859.
I retired and live in Knoxville and have been an avid genealogist for 44 years. My extensive Family Tree can be found on FamilySearch.org. Since I live in Knoxville, TN I have been able to travel to GA to the family graves and court houses to do extensive research. I also interviewed some of the elderly family members and saw the old family bible back in the 1970's in Rome, GA when I first started tracing my famly tree. Take care and Happy Researching! Teresa
Doss-738 and Doss-445 do not represent the same person because: Believe John Doss to be the father of Marcus. They have different birth years approx. 30 years apart, 2 different wives with John's wife the mother of Marcus and 2 different AFN references.
Doss-738 and Doss-445 appear to represent the same person because: Information on both parties is alike and Doss - 445 was entered into system before Doss 738
