Norman Septimus Dunn was born on 2 May 1908 in Alectown, New South Wales, Australia, daughter of John Andrew Dunn (1874–1950) and Mary (Barrett) Dunn (1878–1948). ^[1]

1940 - moved to Sydney for work, and was living with sister Doris and her daughter Enid at Bondi. They shared the cost of providing insulin for their mother Mary. Worked at the Omega chemical factory at Rushcutters Bay where he met his future wife.

1944 - living at Woollahra, with Nancy

1946 - Bought 3 storey terrace in Paddington

1953 - Bought a 2 acre property at Dural and worked at small farms in the district
