Biography

KENNEDY, Martha Clifford ("Cliff") Floyd, born 19 Feb 1859, died 6 Jan 1940. Wife of Dr. Richard Kennedy (d/o Matthew Benjamin and Martha Ann Dalton Floyd)

KENNEDY, Dr. Richard, born 22 July 1834, died 22 Aug 1897. (Husb of Martha Clifford Floyd Kennedy) Martha Clifford Floyd married Dr Richard Kennedy, a much older widower with a young teenage son on January 1, 1880 in Quincy, Florida where he had recently moved set up to practiced medicine after moving from Brooklyn, New York. The family called her Cliff, and she when he proposed to her she replied to him Why Father Kennedy!” Also know as Maggie, her father, Matthew Benjamin Floyd referred to her as "Cliffie" in the family bible when she married. They had three children, first Maime Kennedy, then Gurney William Kennedy and lastly Robert Lawson Kennedy who later became a doctor as well.
