Biography

Lawrence Thomas FRAME1 was born on 4 Nov 1649 in Gloucester, England. He was christened on 4 Nov 1649 in Minsterworth, Gloucester, England.2 Lawrence was also known as Thomas Frame. This is assumed to be the same Thomas Freame, son of Lawrence and Mary Freame who was baptized in Minsterworth, Gloucester on 4 Nov 1649, and whose name was in the enrollment book of the port of Bristol, England, as a servant bound for New England. [ Oath of Allegiance, Dec 1677; training band, 1680]

Thomas was schoolmaster in 1693 in Amesbury, Essex County, Massachusetts , New England which was also known as British America at that time. Amesbury Records show Thomas Frame had an illegal affair with Mary Rowell which resulted in a hasty marriage 18 Sep 1673. They were charged on Moral charges he was to be whipped in public 15 stripes or pay a 4₤ fee, (a lot of money in those days which he probably did not have), and Mary was to be whipped 10 Stripes or pay a fine of 40 shillings; records do not say which. On 30 Oct 1677 Thomas was fined by court 2 shillings for getting drunk with Samuel Weed and getting him to kiss the preacher’s wife.

Thomas and Mary Rowell were married on 18 Sep 1673 and had 7 children; the first three were recorded in Amesbury, Old Norfolk Co., & Salisbury (A Nk S), the fourth just (A & S) and last two in Amesbury. The Frame family:

Hi

A proposal has been made to merge Frame-505 with this profile, Frame-27. I would agree with that.

Also, is it possible to consolidate the bio and sources for Thomas, Frame-27 after the merge?

There are many duplicative sources, etc. and would suggest to have one source listed with notation that each source applies to each fact and shortened for space, or something to that effect. IN other words, list the Source Number for each event and see below, then list that main source just once at the end.

Thank you for the complete profile - filled in gaps of the other and would you also agree that they are the same?

Have a great weekend Sheryl
