William Franks was born in about March of 1841 to Lemuel Franks, Jr. and his wife Huldah. His father's name is mistranscribed in the 1850 census as Samuel.
Military Service
During the Great War of Rebellion, he and his brothers Peter, Jeremiah and John fought for the Union Army in Co. A 1st Ala USA Calvary between 1862 AND 1863. John died while in the army.
