Hi, I see that you just volunteered and signed our honor code. That's great! Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically significant ancestors? I see you have surnames for tags. Why don't you stop by the One Name Studies project, to see if there's already a name study for (surname) going on? The current leaders for that are Doug Lockwood and Alison Andrus. They would be happy to get you started.
Let me know if you need any help! We're glad to have you on board!!
I wanted to suggest that you edit your tag(s) to show any surnames, locations or historical events that you're researching. Once you save your tags, you'll be able to click them and see a list of other WikiTree genealogists who are also researching those subjects. For surnames, there will be another tab on that page that shows you all of the profiles with that name. For example, put "Oster" in the tag instead of "Surname."
You'll also get notifications in your daily & weekly emails when there is activity relevant to your tags.
The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree.
WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we share ancestors and work together as a BIG collaborative team!
When you confirm your email address, youll have an opportunity to become a member of WikiTree. Use the Tags and comments to tell us about your genealogical interests. One of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership.
WikiTree is an exciting and growing community and we are really glad you are here.
