Biography

Henry Gray, estimated birth year 1617, son of William Gray, Grey of Harrow on the Hill, Middlesex, England. The name of the wife of William and the mother of Henry Gray has not been found."[1]

About 1639 or 1640 Henry married Lydia Frost, daughter of William & Joyce (Barker) Frost. Lydia, her husband and her children were mentioned in the will of her father William Frost dated 6 Jan 1644/5. [2]

Henry Gray and his wife Lydia (Frost) Gray were named in her father, William's will dated January 6, 1644. William also named their children Jacob and Mary Graye. Henry Graye was named by William Frost to be the executor of his estate.[3]

Henry was deputy for Fairfield, Apr 1643, Oct 1656, Feb 1657. Henry Gray likely died in 1658. His estate inventory dated Oct 1658, his son Jacob chose John Cable for guardian.

Immigration

Henry Gray arrived in New England in 1637; his origins were Harrow-on-the-Hill, Middlesex, England. He resided in Boston and Fairfield.[4]

Caution

The article cited above gives Gray information from England including several records one of which is a marriage of a William Gray to Mary Button BUT it states that it is unspecified that this marriage applies to this William Gray and that the mother of his children is not named.
