John (son of Edward) probably born about 1660, married Elizabeth ________ , resided in Flushing.He was a soldier in Capt. Wright's company of militia in 1715. His wife died in November 1740 and he died "an ancient Friend (meaning Quaker, member of the Religious Society of Friends - TJM, 25-06-2002)" Mar. 30, 1734.(His children were: - TJM)

John Griffin in 1711 purchased a parcel in Mamaroneck, near the Scarsdale border from John Bloodgood, who had title from Caleb Heathcote, who had it from Richard Richbell, who purchased it from native american proprietors. He conveyed it and other lands purchased from John Disbrow, to his sons John and Benjamin.[2]

son John's wife Hannah family name Clarke Ezekiel Griffin and John Griffin, Jr are both sons of John Griffin, Sr (1660) and his wife Elizabeth (listed as Wright, other geneologies have her name as Mott and Ferris). Ezekiel's daughter Phoebe Griffin married Gershom Gilbert Griffin, son of John Griffin III (29 July 1713). This makes them some sort of cousins, something like first cousins once removed.
