Orlando was born 1722 in Frederick County, Maryland Colony .

He married Elizabeth Gaither. I have no information on the date and place of the marriage.

He married Elizabeth Riggs, daughter of Greenberry Riggs and Ruth Summers, 1750 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland Colony .

Orlando was widowed when his wife, Elizabeth died on October 18, 1779. Orlando died September 10, 1801 in Frederick County, Maryland. ^[1]

Orlando Griffith wrote his will 10 Sep 1800, Frederick County, MD, and mentions his wife and all of his children:First I give unto my wife Elisabeth Griffith… Unto my Son Orlando Griffith… Unto my Son Elisha Griffith… Unto my son Zadock Griffith… Unto my son Chisholm Griffith… Unto my son Joshua Griffith… Unto my said daughter Elisabeth Griffith… Unto my daughter Rachel Griffith… Unto my daughter Ann Silver… Unto My said Son William Griffith … Unto my Son John Griffith Frederick County July 31 1801 then came John Coons Roger Edmonston Jerome Plummer witnesses to the afore going last will and Testament of Orlando Griffith late of Frederick County Deceased and made oath... In request of the said Jerome Plummer and that they did also see Georg Silver the other subscribing witness make his mark to which his name is perceved as a witness to said will in the presence and at the request of the Testator and all in the presence of each other. George Murdock Reg.r I Elisabeth Griffith Widow of Orlando Griffith late of Frederick County Deceased do hereby renounce and quit all Claim to my Bequest or Devise made tome by the last Will of my Husband exhibited and proved according to Law and I Elect to Take in lieu thereof my Dower or legal Share of the Estate of my said Husband- Elisabeth [x] Griffith July 31 Day 1801 To the Register of Wills Fred Cormty Elisabeth Griffith, electing instead to invoke her Dower rights, or legal share, in this particular instance afforded Elisabeth a lifetime interest in 1/3 of all land owned by her husband. -Allie Griffith-Nelson 2007. Sarah MacCubbin was born 1672 in Maryland and died April 22, 1716, in Anne Arundel County. She was the daughter of John MacCubbin and Elinor Carroll. William was transported into the province of Maryland by Michael Stuppel and Stephen Bernerd, who on June 18, 1675, applied to his Lordship's Land Office at St. Mary's City for 1750 acres of land for his transporting into the province to inhabit thirty-five persons, among whom was William Griffith. He settled on the Severn River in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. The Grifith family of Maryland is of Welsh extraction, the surname being derived from the ancient "Gryffydd" of Wales.
