CHARLES GUEDRY is on the Wall of Names at the Acadian Memorial in St. Martinville, Louisiana Plaque 8 right, Le Beaumont. Listed with him are four of the eight children from his two marriages: Joseph, Jean, Jacques and Anne Laurence. He is twice widowed.[1]
Jacques Servan was born in 1770. He was the son of Charles Guedry and Agnès Anne Bourg. [2] He was baptised at Saint-Servan, Ille-et-Vilaine, Bretagne, France.[3][4]
On 19 August 1785, Jacques GUÉDRY, day laborer, age 15, traveling with his father and three siblings as the 27th family (of 5 persons) aboard "Le Beaumont" emigrated to New Orleans, Orleans, Louisiana.[5]
He married 18 September 1797, Donaldsonville, Ascension, LA, to Elisabeth Agnes Babin at Ascension, Louisiana.[6]
He died 5 September 1843 and was buried at St. Gabriel, Iberville, Louisiana.[7]
