Robert Hardwick was born about 1829 in Virginia.[1]
He married Mary Burket on 24 Mar 1851 in Hancock County, Ohio.[2] Together they had at least the following children:[1][3][4]
- William Hardwick (~1851)
- Sylvania Ann (Hardwick) Haviland (~1853 - 27 Aug 1929)
- Eleanor Hardwick (~1855)
- Jeremiah Hardwick (~1857)
- Peolar Hardwick (~1858 - bef. 1870?)
- Jefferson Hardwick (~1860)
- Walker Hardwick (~1862)
At the time of the 1860 Census, they were living in Union Township, Hancock County, Ohio. He was working as a day laborer.[1]
He joined the 57th Ohio Infantry Regiment on 25 Dec 1861. He was assigned as a Private with Company G.[5]
There is no further record of him. It is likely he died during the war.
