Lieutenant Drury Harrington served with Ninety-Six District Regiment, South Carolina Militia during the American Revolution.
Drury Harrington is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A051371.
Drury Harrington was born 22 June 1752 in Halifax, North Carolina.[1]
He was living at Chatham County, North Carolina when he "was called into service" and lived there "since the end of the war."[1]
His wife, Rachel Petty,[2] was not named in his will, so is presumed to have died before 7 November 1839, the date of his will. He had seven children living when he wrote his will:[3]
Wiley Allen Harrington,[3] married Margaret Boyd[2]
1776 - DAR application of Mrs. Annie Renfro Tomlinson states 'Drury Harrington, 1776, enlisted from Chathan and fought at the battle of Moore's Creek Bridge, February 27. He was in the cavalry under Sumter at Ramsour's Mills; served under Pickens at Cowpens and was at the siege of Augusta.' Also noted is the application is the name of Rachel Petty, his wife.

Harrington, Drury
He served as a sergeant of foot under Lt. Gideon Smith from 14 June to 19 July 1779 and was a lieutenant under Capt. Robert Montgomery and Col. Brandon from 12 May 1780 to January 1783 alternately. He probably fought at Cedar Springs, Cowpens, Blastock's Plantation and the siege of Ninety Six. A.A.3353; A.A.3557A; X3026; (Jolly, Wilson, R5688).
His name was also listed as Drury Herrington in the about noted reference.
Under the Act of Congress, June 7, 1832, Drury Harrington, ranked as Private and Lieutenant, was awarded an annual allowance of $116.66 for serving in the North Carolina militia. As back pay, he received $349.98 when placed on the pension roll April 17, 1834. He was 81 years old.

I Dreevy Harrington of the state and county aforesaid do make and ordain this my last will and Testament in the manner and form following, Viz. I will my son, Wiley Allen Harrington, my wearing clothes, and my saddle. The balance of my property it is my will that it shall be equally divided between my six living children. To-wit--Jeptha Harrington, Deliah Darwin, Nancy Petty, Dreevy Harrington, Rachel Poe, and James Harrington and now I do constitute and appoint and ordain Jeptha Harrington, executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void all former Testaments hereto or made by me,- and it is my will that no court be troubled with what little I have but that the Executor collect and sell my property and divide it according to my will above. In testimony whereof I have here unto set my hand and affixed my seal this seventh day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty nine, 1839. Signed sealed, and declared by the said Dreevy Harrington in the presence of us, who in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names hereunto as witness of the Execution thereof.
