Biography

THOMAS HARRISON, son of Thomas Harrison (Sr.) and his first wife, the widow of John Thompson of New Haven, was born on 1 March 1656/7 at New Haven, Connecticut.

Thomas (Jr.) married Margaret Stent, daughter of his step-mother, Elizabeth Stent, John Sr's second wife in 1689.[1][2]

His children were born at Branford.[2]

  3. Thomas Harrison b. Oct. 12, 1694, removed to Litchfield, Conn. married Hannah Sutliff
  4. Abigail Harrison b. Nov. 17, 1696 married Josiah Pond.
  5. Benjamin Harrison b. Aug. 7, 1698, married Mary Sutliff settled in Waterbury, now Wolcott, about 1738
  6. Joseph Harrison b. May 25, 1700 married Sarah Foote.
  7. David b. Feb. 7, 1702
  8. Aaron b. March 4, 1704, d 1708
  9. Jacob b. Oct. 23, 1708, d 1748. married Sarah Wardell daughter of Uzal Wardell[3]

The mother of Thomas Harrison was his father's first wife, Dorothy ____, the widow of John Thompson of East Haven. See NEHGR (1912), Vol 66, page 197. I've removed Janet Thomson as his mother.

Unsourced information on this Thomas and his descendants, removed from the profile of Thomas Sr (d. 1704) (May have come from Geni): Thomas Harrison, born in March 1657, fought in King Philip's War and was a lieutenant in Queen Anne's War in 1709, participating in the military expedition into Canada. His son' Thomas Harrison, born in 1694, moved to Litchfield, Connecticut where he acquired 1,000 acres of land, and made a gift of 100 acres to each of nine sons. He fought in the war against France and Spain in 1739-1740 and, beginning in 1751, he served as a representative in the Connecticut Legislature. He was a deacon of the First Church [Congregational] of Litchfield. His son, Thomas Harrison, born in 1722, married on September 20, 1764, Sybil Shervoy, an Acadian who was left at New Haven
