Lydia is the daughter of John and Sarah Hawkins. The birthdate of 1709 listed in numerous charts is undocumented and seems unlikely given the following documenet showing her married by 1713.
She married Elisha Knowlton but there is no documentation for the marriage. However, her father left a parcel of land to Lydia and her son-in-l"aw Elisha Knowlton on Aug 12, 1713, deeding 93 acres for love, etc., to son-in-law Elisha Knowlton and Lydia, his wife." 1715, Oct 19: John gave free consent to sons William Hawkins, Hosannah Brown and Elisha Knowlton to sell all their lands which they had of him.
According to "Errata and addenda to Dr. Stocking's History and genealogy of the Knowltons of England and America," the couple had 8 children: Elizabeth, Abigail, Jonathan, Sarah, Bethiah, Rhoda, Edward and Andrew, born between 1721 and 1737.
