Biography
Cinthia M. Haywood was born Aug 1, 1822 in Henry County, Georgia. She married William Turner in Talladega AL abt. 1843, they had 7 children, all born in AL,[1] before they left on the journey to migrate to MS. Where they were found in the 1870 Census of Lafayette County, MS [2]then in 1880 in the Pontotoc County MS census. Their children were all highly respected good citizens that lived in and around Lafayette, Pontotoc, Chickasaw Counties in MS. Cinthia Haywood Turner passed away on Aug. 28th 1896 in Randolph community located in Pontotoc County, MS, and buried beside her husband William T. Turner in Coats Cemetery on Topsy Road in Randolph. Her name on her Gravestone is SYNTHA TURNER.

Deborah i am a descendant of william haywood who married mary smith in carroll co. ga in 1843 He had a brother elcanah haywood and a sister who married wm. thura turner. My father, john wesley haywood was the grandson of james franklin haywood the only child of william and mary smith. who told him that Thomas was his uncle and Thomas was bornin S.C in 1776. thamas died in randolph co. al. and was not william and elcanah 's father. According to James Franklin Haywood his father died of pneumonia while hiding from the law with his cousin a son of Thomas Haywood. William haywood iright before or after his son James Franklin Haywood was born Mary smith Haywood married Benjamin Cantrell in 1847, After the Civil war James franklin Haywood married Salina Jane Chandler daughter of Oliver Chandker and Mary Elizabeth Sewell. They all moved to Cass co. Texas by 1870 as the sons of James Franklin Haywood , James William and Alexander Greenberry Haywood were one and two years old born in Georgia in the 1870 u.s. census. If you have documentation to prove me wrong please let me know. Have any of Thomas or Elcanah Haywood's descendants.done DNA tests to show what earlierHaywood family we descended from Hope to hear from you soon Iwill be 96 years old this year and my father John Wesley Haywood lived to be 100 years old.
