There seems to be confusion about the parents of Maria. Page 10 of the below source lists her parents as the Reverend Andrew Stuaffer Hershey born 11 Feb 1697/98 in Apenzell, Switzerland, died 24 December 1754; and Mary Catharine Schnabley born 1702 in Boisenbiesen, Alsace, died 1759; having been married to each other 1725 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The names and birth locations in the data above are similar, but the dates do not match. Also, there is a comment below stating the source "ascribes the wrong father for Maria". See the profile page of Maria's father Andrew Hersche for further explanation.

Berger-Knorr, Lawrence, The Relations of Milton Snavely Hershey, 3rd ed., Sunbury Press, New Kingstown, PA, 2005. Available at Google Books [1]. However, the author ascribes the wrong father for Maria.
This source uses the spelling "Hershey", I'm guessing because the entire book is about the famous Hershey family.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Maria by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Maria:
Hershey-250 and Herschi-17 appear to represent the same person because: Seems to be the same person. I am moving the children from Herschi 17 to Hershey 250. Each Hershi seems to have had an incomplete list.
