Edward Junior was born about 1761 in Albany, New York, the son of Edward Hicks.
He is "The Spy", his father was Edward "The Loyalist"
Edward Hicks Senior (The Loyalist) was a Revolutionary Soldier with Butler's Rangers - fighting for the British. Edward, Senior along with his son, Edward Junior, were captured and both sentenced to death. Edward Senior was hung in 1778 in Minisink, New York, his body was not recovered. His son, Edward (The Spy) Hicks, Junior escaped jail.
1778 - Age 17, Father was hung in Minisink, Orange, New York
Came to Canada as a United Empire Loyalist and was awarded land in Prince Edward County.
1793 - Age 32, Married Deborah Pringle, daughter of another UEL who settled in Prince Edward County.
1794 to 1787, had three children with Deborah
1816, Age 55, Married Esther Pringle, a younger sister of Deborah.
1831 - Died in 1832 in Marysburgh, Prince Edward, Ontario, Canada. [1]
