Is there a reliable source for the attached mother Mary Anne Grey (abt.1640-abt.1700)? If not, she should be detached. She is listed as born and died in Isle of Wight County.

Remember, these early arrivals could be their first - second - third arrival from England, etc. Many went back and forth to pick up (pay) for others, so they could acquire more land by bringing more immigrants to populate the new world.

I'm trying to connect my James Holman 1678-1759 who was married to Sarah Woodward 1680-1774. I came across William Holman 1658-1695, married to Ann Tandy 1662-1695, in 1693 in Virginia. This was from About Family Search.

I was looking at some information on William Holman and Richmond, Wise County, Virginia was not established in the time that he was born in Virginia. When I look at the time line and the breakout of the counties (according to Wikipedia), through several migrations, the earliest county before many breakouts was originally King and Queen County, Virginia. The city of Richmond was found in 1737. Was the location of Richmond, Wise County another "name" in the King and Queen County boundaries? If so - how is that information researched? Where are the information archived? County level or state level?

Name: Wm. Holman Arrival year: 1665 Arrival Place: Virginia Primary Immigrant: Holman, Wm Based on the immigration record, he arrived in Virignia in 1665, therefore, he was not born in Virginia, or this record does not belong to him. Also, his birth would have had to be before 1647 for him to have been of age and be the primary immigrant.

There is another immigration document that shows a William Holman arriving in 1638 with sponsors by the name of John Batts and John Davis. They arrived in Charles River. I always wondered if this was the William Holman that started my family line. It comes from a document called "Complete listings of Early Virginia Immigrants, 1623 - 1666. It comes from a book published in 1912 by George Gabell Greer.
