Biography

Robert Little Hooper was the son of John Hooper and Elizabeth Little. He moved from Cornwall to London, England and became a physician (surgeon) there. In 1827 he married Eliza Richardson Stevens and they had four children (Robert Richardson Hooper, Aelaide Charlotte Hooper, Eliza Hooper, John Henry Hooper). Eliza was a spinster in their marriage record therefore her likely surname was Stevens. Robert died from a tragic accident as reported in a New Brunswick newspaper in 1851:" d. London, 8th inst., Robert L. Hooper, Esq. M.D. of 5 High St., Newington Butts, brother of John Hooper of (St. John) city, N.B. He was thrown from his carriage 5th Nov. and died from the injuries he then received."
