Ephraim HOUGH, Jr married (1) in Wallingford on 2 Oct 1766 to Eunice ANDREWS^[2] (6 Dec 1746 CT - 16 Dec 1774 CT), dau of Andrew and Esther (ROYCE) ANDREWS.

1. Robert Rice Hough (22 Jul 1767 Wallingford, New Haven, Connecticut^[3] - ) md ?? Anstrous WARREN or Manwaring?, and ch were Robert Rice, Jr; Lev; Lathan (or Lather); Ephraim; Josiah; Abigail; Austrous; Elizabeth; and Augustus.
2. Eliakim (27 Jul 1769 Wallingford, New Haven, Connecticut^[4] - 5 Jan 1822 CT) was a tide mill operator at Strafford CT. On 15 Jul 1794, he md Sarah LEWIS and they had Amanda; Alvah; Eliakim; Zurial Lewis; William Mosher; Sarah Maria; Edwin; and Miriam Harriet.
3. Sarah (29 Oct 1772 Wallingford, New Haven, Connecticut^[5] - 22 Aug 1863 Genesee, NY) on 8 Dec 1790 at Cheshire md Judah ROOT. They moved to Canandagua and Genesee, and had 9 ch:

Eunice HOUGH died about this time and Ephraim md (2) on 24 May 1775 Mrs. Sarah (DICKERMAN) MUNSON (29 dec 1741 - 7 Mar 1784 CT), dau of Samuel and Mary (ALLING) DICKERMAN, and widow of Joel MUNSON.

2. Isaac (17 June 1779 CT - ??? 1840).
3. Levi (24 Jan 1783 CT - 1806 VA). Levi was a traveling trader who was apparently unm at the time of his death.

On 19 Jan 1785, Ephraim md (3) Lydia ALLING^[7] ( - Troy, NY, age 85), dau of Samuel and Mary (LEEK) ALLING.

4. Alling (3 Nov 1791 CT - 1824) graduated from Brown Univ. and was an ordained Baptist minister. He had no ch.
5. Mary (1793 CT - ) md ??? GREEN. She is not listed on some records.
6. Phoebe (6 Mar 1795 Wallingford, New Haven, Connecticut^[11] - 1823) unm.
7. James (22 Jul 1798 Wallingford, New Haven, Connecticut^[12] - Nov 1856 NC) on 21 Sep 1841 near High Point, NC, md Martha KENDALL, and their ch were Albert Gurney; Harriet Almira; Susan Elizabeth; Mary Louisa; and Martha Alling. James and Ephraim moved to NC about 1819. James' family members were Quakers.

There is an unexplained New Haven Co, CT, marriage for Ephraim HOUGH, Jr, and Huldah ROYCE, both of Meriden, on 10 FEb 1768. It seems possible that Eunice HOUGH died after Robert Royce was born, and that Eliakim, Sarah, and Eunice were ch of Huldah. If so, the death date for Eunice may be the death date for Huldah.
