Biography

John Huckins was born 2 Aug 1649 at Barnstable, Massachusetts. [1] He was the son of Thomas Huckins and Rose Tilley.

On 10 Aug 1670 John married Hope Chipman, daughter of John Chipman and Hope Howland.[2] She was born 31 Aug 1652 at Barnstable, died at Middleboro, Massachusetts on 25 or 26 Jul 1728,[3] and was buried in Cobb Lot, Middleboro.

John died in Barnstable 10 Nov 1678; he was 29.[2][4]

His inventory was taken on 27 December 1678 at his house in Barnstable. It included cooper tools. Hope, his widow made her oath to the truth of the inventory on 3 March 1678.[5]

A settlement of his estate between Hope, the children, and Elder John Chipman and Thomas Huckings was approved by the court on 7 March 1678/79.[6]
