Biography

Corderoy Iremonger (Ironmonger) was the fourth son born to Samuel Iremonger and his wife Bridget Cordray.
U.S. Southern Colonies Project logo
Corderoy Ironmonger was a Virginia colonist.

He immigrated to Northumberland county, Virginia "before 1666, where he purchased 400 acres of land." He married Mary, widow of Abraham Field[1] (m between June and August 1674).[2]

Corderoy and Mary had no children.[1]

Corderoy Ironmonger died "intestate in Virginia...shortly before 5 June 1675 (date of his inventory). His widow Mary married (3rd) before 26 Sept. 1677 ____ Gallant."[1]

Research Notes

Estimated Birth Date: "About 1640" is a guess based on birth order given in Magna Carta Ancestry (#Richardson) and his older brother Francis being baptized 1635 at Shaw, Berkshire (also from Richardson & also the basis for Corderoy's birth location).

Although Corderoy is listed in Douglas Richardson's "Magna Carta Ancestry" as a Gateway Ancestor, he had no known children. I am therefore taking away the Gateway Ancestor designation, removing the Magna Carta project as a profile manager, and deleting the Magna Carta Project section.
