Mary was born, probably about 1643 in New Netherland (later Hempstead, Queens County, New York),[1] perhaps the oldest of six known children and three daughters of Robert and Unknown Unknown Jackson.

Family of birth
Mary's father,Robert Jackson, had three wives. The name of his first wife is not known. .Robert Jackson had about four children with his first wife including Mary; two daughters with his second wife - ____Washburn; and then married the widow Agnes Puddington about 1660.
Mary was not named in her father's will, but is named in a deed from him to his son John, and the latter's two sons, John and James, under date 5 May, 1653, conveying 'all his lands in Hempstead, etc., excepting that which I have already given my daughter, Mary Ferris, of Westchester Co.' (See Vol. 7, p. 32 of Deeds, Secy. of State Office, Albany, N.Y.)
Marriage and family
About 1661 or 1662 in Greenwich, Fairfield Co., Connecticut, she married John Ferris[4] and they had about ten known children, five sons and five daughters:

Death
Mary died of unknown causes, in Throgmorton (now Throg's Neck), Westchester County, New York, possibly about 1 July 1704 when she would most likely have been in her sixties.[6][7]
John Ferris, of Westchester Co., NY, in ca. 1661. He was born ca. 1639. She died in 1704, and he remarried to Grace (___).[ He died testate in 1715 in Westchester County, New York, his will dated 9 May 1715.
