Biography

Margaret was a grand-niece of John Vessey alias Harman (1465?-1554) Bishop of Exeter.^[1] In the will of William Harman, nephew of the bishop, dated at Sutton Coldfield, Warwick, 1 Aug-9 Oct. 1592, there is a bequest to his “cozen Mr Henrie Sewell of Coventrie, Alderman” and makes him an overseer.^[2] Margaret was the daughter of Thomas Keene of Sutton Coldfield, Warwickshire and his wife Margaret Gibbons, eldest daughter of William Gibbons of Little Sutton and his wife Agnes Harman.^[3]
