"Died in Portland, Oregon, last Wednesday Harry J. Kelley, son of Mrs. H. S. Kelley of Madera--Funeral in San Jose. Mrs. H. S. Kelly received a message that her son, Harry J. Kelley, died at Portland last Wednesday. The remains will be buried in the cemetery at San Jose. The deceased was 44 years old. He leaves three children, Wilbur and Leslie Kelley who are in the military and naval service, and Miss Allene Kelley of Madera. Mrs. Kelley and granddaughter, Miss Allene Kelley, left for San Jose today to attend the funeral."[5]
... "The deceased was a son of the late H. S. Kelley, a pioneer laundryman of San Jose[,] and a brother of G. M., H. T., H. S.Kelley and Mrs W. C. Maze, the latter of Modesto. He is also survived by his widow, Juanita Kelley. ... [3]

His second wife was Madeline "Madge" Lebbert, whom he married in Santa Clara County, California on 19 March 1904. She deserted him, and they were divorced 17 September 1909. [10][11][12]
