In 1903, in Victoria, he married Ethel Knight (Mollison) Kelly (1874-1949), after she came to Australia from Canada. [2] She married as "Ethel Knight Mollison," rather than "Moore."
KELLY—KNIGHT-MOLLISON.—On the 20th August, at Christ Church, Hawthorn, by the Rev. Herbert E. Taylor, Thomas Herbert, second son of the late T. H. Kelly, of Glenyarrah, Double Bay, Sydney, to Ethel Knight, eldest daughter of William Knight-Mollison, of Montrose, Forfarshire, Scotland.
A New York Passenger Arrival record for 8 May 1923 gives his residence as Sydney Australia, birth year as 1876, born in South Hampton, married, arriving at Ellis Island aboard the 'Majestic' in the company of Mr J.D. Kelly [4]

KELLY, Thomas Herbert.—May 12, 1948, at St. Vincent's private hospital, Sydney, beloved husband of Ethel, and loving father of Beatrice (Mrs. Macphillamy), Thomas Henry, Patricia (Signora Volterra), and Carleton, aged 72 years.
Well - known Sydney company director and amateur musician, Mr. Thomas Herbert Kelly, died in St. Vincent's private hospital yesterday morning after an illness which had lasted several months.
Mr. Kelly, who was 72, was chairman of the Perpetual Trustee Co., Ltd., managing director of Sydney Smelting Co., and a director of the Bank of New South Wales and of Tooth and Co., Ltd.
He was a fine viola player, and formed a private string quartet in Sydney in 1916. He gave regular chamber music concerts at his home up to 1930.
Mr. Kelly is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ethel Knight Kelly, of Darling Point, two sons and two daughters.
Mrs. Kelly, formerly Ethel Knight Mollison, married Mr. Kelly in 1903, after she came to Australia from Canada under contract to J. C. Williamson, Ltd.
Mr. Kelly was educated at Sydney Grammar School, Eton, and Magdalen College, Oxford.
He returned to Australia to direct the Sydney Smelting Co., established by his father.
His funeral will leave St. Mark's Church, Darling Point, at 3 o'clock this afternoon for the Northern Suburbs crematorium.
His cremated remains were interred with his parents on 7 July 1948, in Anglican Section 6 Vaults north, Row 45. [8]
Ethel died in 1949, aged 74.
