Born 6 OCT 1724. Kraichgau ?. [1] Merged profile gave date as Oct. 24.
Buried
4 FEB 1801.
St. Paul’s Methodist Episcopal Church.
Her tombstone shows her name as Maria Eva.
Eva Maria KISTLER was born at the right time to have been a child of immigrant Hans KISTLER and sibling to Jürg KISTLER of Greenwich Twp, Berks Co, PA (ca1721-ca1783 and his brothers, but they are said to have come from the Auerbach over near the Rhein in Baden (near Karlsbad), rather than from the Kraichgau.
Eva may instead be a descendant of the Hans KISTLER ‘aus dem Berner Gebiet’ who emigrated 1652 with wife and 3 children to Richen near Sinsheim in the Kraichgau. In 1654 he was recorded a ‘Wildfänge’, married to an Anna, with 6 children. They had children born 1655-1661 in Richen. Their son Hans married Katharina HEUBERGER who had children 1667-1675 in Richen. [State Archives Mosbach XI, Landesarchive Karlsruhe].
Eva Maria and Paul GEIGER had a child bapt at New Hanover Lutheran Church in 1756. Reportedly had 4 sons, 5 daughters.
Widow Mary Eve GEIGER, widow of Paul GEIGER of Robeson, her will written 23 June 1800, probate 18 May 1801. To dau. Elizabeth PENTR, £15. To dau. Jane AMANS, £25. Clothes to be divided among the 4 girls. Son Paul GEIGER, executor.[2]
Maria Eva Kiestler is presumed to have been born on October 26, 1724, in Germany -- date from gravestone transcription.
Circa 1749, presumably in Germany, Maria Eva married Johann Paulus Geiger. Marriage record is dated 29 April 1749 in Richen, Eppingen, which fits with the theory that she descends from Hans KISTLER ‘aus dem Berner Gebiet’ who migrated to Richen. Maria Eva's father is Jacob Kistlers (likely forname is Hans). Since this is a translation and not an original image, it is possible that it still reflects a mistranslation of the name.[3]
