Biography

05 Aug 1902 - Immigration: Setta Klee, resident of Plaidt, Germany, 20 years old, sailed aboard the Kaiser Wilhelm der Grosse, sailing from Bremen to New York. Her occupation was listed as servant and she had visited the United States 3 1/2 years before. She was going to her sister Mrs. Rosenman.[1]

1910 - Marriage & census: Sadie, lived Newark Ward 14, Essex, New Jersey, she was 28, born in Germany. She and Joseph Schlosser, age 31, reported their first marriage of 0 years.[2]

1920 - Census: So 19th Street, Newark Ward 13, Essex, New Jersey. Joseph, 40, and Sadie, 38, who is a naturalized citizen, have a daughter Beatrice age 9. Joseph's brother Benjamin, age 38, is living with them.[3]

1930 - Census: West 106th st. Manhattan, New York, New York. Sadie, age 46, was married at age 27, but is now widowed. She immigrated in 1902 from Germany, and is a naturalized citizen. She rents a house, but is the head of the household and runs it as a boarding house. She now has two daughters: Beatrice, age 19, works as a bookkeeper and Anita, 9.[4][5]

1940 - Census: Broadway, New York, New York, New York. She lived there also in 1935. Sadie Schlosser, 50, runs a boarding house. Residents:
