Abner moved to Las Cruces in the late 1920’s where he was a farmer. His son Jack moved with him. Clark and his sisters stayed in Oklahoma. Clark had a job driving a school bus to support himself and his sisters. Jack stuck Clark with the payments for a car he had bought. He had talked Clark into being a co-signer on the sale. Clark later moved to Las Cruces. Jack and Clark were members of the Las Cruces High School football team, and their photo is in the yearbook. They were probably pretty good players as they were older than the others. Abner had kept them out of school many times over the years to work on their farms instead of going to school.
Abner had a middle initial of B. He never had a middle name of Berryman, and this mistake needs to be corrected wherever it appears.

Birth is from Baptismal record. Death verified by my father, Clark Knight, his son, who had his body transported to Tulsa, Oklahoma for burial. My father had had him committed to the State Hospital in Big Spring, Texas. We believe now that he may have had Alzheimers. His behavior in his final years was very bizarre.
Above information from personal remembrances of Clark’s daughter, Mary Knight McGarr.
