Lifelong Resident of Scott Town Dies J. Kuipers, 78, a native resident of the town of Scott, died Friday afternoon at 4:30 after a short illness. He has lived in the town of Scott all his life and celebrated his golden wedding anniversary four years ago. He is survived by his widow, three sons, William and Frank of Green Bay; and Martin of Scott; and nine daughters, Mrs. John Bomber, of Green Bay; Sister Martha of the Good Shepherds Convent, Green Bay; Mrs. Adrian Smith, Little Chute; Mrs. Matt Langenberg, Humboldt; Mrs. Martin Van Lannen, Bay Settlement; and Mrs. Elmer Deschane of Scott; Nellie and Genevieve, at home. Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30 from Holy Cross church with internment at the Bay Settlement cemetery.

His grandparents are not on the Ancestry.com family listing, but are on the original census form as part of the same household. His grandfather Johannes is listed by his middle name, Antonie, and his grandmother Hendrina. Their ages are off by 10 years on the form, and swapped, incorrectly showing Hendrina as the older of the two. 1860 Federal Census lists him as John Cooper, age 12, living in Scott, Brown Co, with his parents John & Elizabeth, sisters Theodora, Mary, Lambertine, & Hendrika, brother Anton, and grandparents Hendrika and Antoine. 1870 Federal Census shows him as living in Scott, Brown Co, with his parents, John & Elizabeth, sisters Theodora, Mary, Lamberdine, Harriett (Hendrika), brothers Anton, Martin, William, & grandmother Hendrina (listed as Harriette). Occupation is shown as farm laborer. Ancestry.com misread the family name as Kinbers. 1880 Census lists him as John Cooper, age 32, living with his wife Minnie, children Anna, Mary, Elisabeth & Martin in Scott, Brown Co, WI. 1895 Wisconsin State Census shows a household of twelve people, four maile and eight female. All twelve were born in thei U.S. 1900 Federal Census shows him as age 50, living in Scott, Bown Co, WI with wife Minnie, children Martin, Will, Caday (Katie), Nelly, Frank, Netty, Francis, and Jenny. Spelling on the census form is correct but Ancestry.com misspelled the surname as Kuiper. 1905 Wisconsin Census lists him as age 56, living in Scott, Brown Co, WI with wife Minnie, children Elizabeth, Martin, Odelia, Will, Katie, Necey, Frank, Nelly, Francis, Jennie. Ancestry. com has the family name misread as Kempers. 1910 Federal Census shows him as age 61, living in Scott, Brown Co, WI on John May Rd, with wife Minnie, children Willie, Nellie, Frank, Nettie & Jennie. Name appears to be spelled Kuypers on the form. 1920 Federal Census shows him as age 71, living in Scott, Brown Co, WI with his wife Minnie and daughers Nellie & Genevieve. It lists his birthplace as Green Bay, Wisconsin.
