Biography
The daughter of Edwin Lair and his second wife, Margaret (Weatherwax) Lair, Mattie was born in Woodstock Township in 1865.[1][2] She married William Albert Billmeyer (1862-1954), the son of Andrew Billmeyer and Mary Knauce, in Woodstock Township on November 6, 1887.[3] Their children included:
Leon Andrew Billmeyer (1888-1935)
Clifford Laverne Billmeyer (1890-1967)
Mildred May Billmeyer (1892-1969)
Marguerite Lowella Billmeyer (1895-1998)
Harold Duane Billmeyer (1898-1983)
Ina Lucille Billmeyer (1901-1929)
They made their home and farmed in Cambridge Township.[4] She died of pyemia (septicemia) at the age of 36[5] and is buried at Cambridge Junction Cemetery in rural Lenawee County.[6]

Her death certificates lists her year of birth as 1865; her grave marker is etched with 1866.
