Armenia Lesley was born ca 1834, in Ohio. She was the daughter of Aaron Lasley and Louisa (Desjardins) Lesley. Her mother was from France. At the age of 16, she was in her parent's home in Washington, Warren County, Indiana, along with her 6 siblings.[1]
She maried Landrum Search on February 3, 1856 in Warren County, Indiana.[2] They had 5 children.
They lived in Ross, Vermilion County, Illinois in 1860, where he was a Farmer, and Armenia was taking care of the home and children, Lawrence-4, Florence-4, and Mary-2, with his brother William-15, living with them.[3]
Landrum served in the Civil War, as a Corporal in Company D. 113 Illinois Infantry. He died on March 29, 1863, on the Fltg Hospital Ship, "Nashville".[4]
A pension for Amenia Search was issued in 1863.[5]
She married John Berry on April, 20, 1869, in Iroquois County, Illinois.[6]
She died on February 10, 1870 in Indiana, and was buried in the Oxford West Cemetery in Oxford, Benton county, Indiana.[7]
