Tony Layne

This should serve as a cautionary tale: My brother has a copy of Floyd B. Layne's "Layne Genealogy" which was handed down through our father from our grandfather, Frank Perry Layne. Growing up, it was second only to the Bible in authority to us. I found a PDF copy of it online and began to make corrections in my Wikitree profile. Turns out there's a rather glaring gap in information: How old was Tarleton J. Layne when he was born to Elisha Layne (b. 1685), and when he married Tabitha Minter (b. 1764)? Lesson learned: Always read through and think before taking a source as authoritative!
