Eugene Grant Leach was born on 17 Feb 1879 in Kennebunkport, York, Maine, son of Pvt. USA Charles Franklin Leach (~1846 - 1919) and Mary Sylvia (Hanks) Leach (1853 - >1900).

Eugene married Alice May Boston , daughter of John Webber Boston and Nora Sophia Kelley 18 Dec 1899 at Somersworth, Strafford, New Hampshire. Their children were:
