Biography

Lawrence was born about 1860. He was the son of Gerald Lermit and Henrietta Downes. His birth was registered in the fourth quarter of 1860^[1].

He was baptised on 23 December 1860 at Dedham, Essex, England^[2].

He received his M. A. at T.C.D. (Trinity College Dublin, Ireland).

LERMIT—RADCLIFFE —On the 6th inst.. at St. Swithin’s Church, Eastgrinstead, by the Ven. Archdeacon Atlay, Vicar of Willesden, assisted by the Rev. M. Clark, Kingsgate House, Winchester, the Rev. L. H. Lermit, fifth son of the Rev. Dr. Lermit, Rector of St Florence, Tenby, to Frances Theresa, fourth daughter of the late Rev. W. Coxe Radcliffe, Rector of Fonthill Gifford, Wilts.^[4]

They had at least two children; Henry and Dorothea.

In the 1939 England and Wales Register he was living with his wife at Garden Cottage, Greenhill Road, Farnham, Surrey, England. Also in the household was their unmarried daughter Dorothea and two household staff.
