Biography

John Henry Lewis was born 9 Jan 1856 in Oil Creek Township, Crawford County, Pennsylvania. He was the youngest son of Sally (Breed) Lewis (abt.1818-abt.1894) and Robert Lewis (abt.1813-abt.1898).

He married Julia Lucretia Henderson of Oil Creek Township, Venango County, Pennsylvania. These children are listed in their online memorial sites:

According to his obituary, John Henry Lewis was a very successful farmer and the Lewis homestead is one of the best kept farms in this section of the state. He was a great lover of his home and was never more happy than when there with his children and grandchildren. Mr. Lewis was a member of the Kerr Hill Presbyterian church for 40 years and a charter member of Gresham Grange. He was also a member of Queen City lodge, I.O.O.F.^[1]

John Henry Lewis died 14 May 1933 in Gresham, Oil Creek Township, Crawford County, Pennsylvania. His grave is in Woodlawn Cemetery, Titusville, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, USA ^[2].
