DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Kem or other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree: It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Kem:

Hello cousin!

I recently took a DNA test and am a direct male descendants of Abraham Pitsenberger. It seems on his page that you were looking for one. I matched with you on gedmatch one to one. But interestingly, I did not match with most others listed in Abraham's page.

My line goes Abraham, Abraham Jr, William, Peter, Pascal, Pete, me.

On a side note, thank you for all the work you've done over the years. When I first started looking into genealogy a few decades I found your work along with Walley Garchow's with a simple internet search. I didn't really have to do much myself.

Hi, David --

Nice to hear from you.

Sadly, Wally died 7 years ago, at a relatively young age. We miss his deep research.

I'm on vacation for another week. I'll contact you when I get back. You can reach me at [email address removed] My Ancestry autosomal tests links me to about 50 people in Abraham Pitsenbarger's line, including a couple from the line of William. Although I'm registered with gedmatch, I haven't found the time yet to really learn the system there. From what you say ("a direct male line"), it sounds as though you did a Y-chromosome test. But I would not have matched you on this test, since my line to Abraham goes through two women. So I'm wondering what DNA test you took. We are fifth cousins, so our DNA marker overlap is not going to be a strong one.

Thanks for the reminder, Nancy. Fixed the Error 631s. I have some other errors I need to address.

Please check your suggestion list and correct the 25+ profiles with Error 631: Wrong word in death location. You used cemeteries as the place of death which produces a data base error. Thank you!

Hi, Kem,

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

Welcome Kem, and thank you for upgrading, 😊

I am very pleased to welcome you to the WikiTree family, your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together.

It is best to start with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.

I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.

Thank you for adding your DNA to WikiTree. Getting the Best from DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

Thank you for adding a GEDCOM. The GEDCOMpare process guide has tips on how to use the data in your file most efficiently.

Happy tree climbing
