My tree is on family tree maker but not sure how to share that but would like to add to you r work if possible and clear up any bad links on mine I am very much an amateur at this.. I look forward to hearing from you. Hank Bergson
I don't know how much I can help you, but you may be able to help me greatly. There is at best speculative evidence linking my Marchant ancestors to Abishai Marchant. There are some sources indicating William Marchant (b.1673) was the eldest son of Abishai and the father of Richard Marchant (b.1700) . Other sources show Samuel Marchant was born to Abishai in 1673 and died several years later. There may have been relevant records destroyed in the 1827 Barnstable Co. records fire. Finally, there is no evidence of Richard Marchant's birth as the first records mentioning him aren't until 1723.
I haven't had DNA tested. I was in the process of asking my Merchant cousin if he would be willing to take a yDNA test in hope a link to Abishai could be confirmed. After browsing my profile & tree you can see why a DNA link could break through a very important wall. Any help you can provide would be much appreciated.
Thanks, John Carollo
