Ann (Martin) McPherson was a Virginia colonist.

Biography

Ann was born about 1667 in the Colony of Virginia. Her parents were John and Christian Martin.

She was married three times:

  1. __Hubbard. Children-Jacob and Mathew.
  2. __Watts. Children-Thomas, Francis, Edward, Margaret.
  3. Daniel MackPherson

She died about March 1741 in Stafford County, Virginia.

King George Co., Virginia
Feb. 1730
Deposition of Anne Watts
In the deposition, she stated that she was about 63 years old, and that she was the daughter of Francis Warrington's Wife, who had formerly been the wife of John Martin, deceased. Ann also stated that her mother and the mother of Frances Golber, who married Thomas White, deceased, were sisters. On the same date, Mary Reynolds testified that she was present about thirty years earlier when Frances Golberas certained that Francis Warrington's wife was her aunt (see King George County Deed Book 1-A, pp. 120-21).

These statements suggest that Anne's father was John Martin.

Research Notes

Joanna (Monk) Waddington was the wife of Francis Waddington, Jr. Ann’s mother was Christian, the wife of John Martin and Francis Waddington, Sr. Mis-reading of documents has lead many to insist that Joanna was Ann’s mother.

DOB of 15 Nov 1678 from alternate merged profile. No source for it and conflicts with Anne's 1730 deposition.

Recap of the deposition.
Anne stated that she was about 63 years old, and that she was the daughter of Francis Warrington's Wife, who had formerly been the wife of John Martin, deceased.
I've seen the will below used as evidence that Anne MacPherson was the wife of Edward Watts, son of Cornelius Watts of Wells, Somerset, England. That Edward Watts' birth in 1620 makes that link tenuous at best. He would have been about 68 at the time of his marriage to Anne. The Edward Watts she married must be a different, much younger man.

Martin-30279 and Martin-9542 appear to represent the same person because: It's obvious by names and records used that these are intended to be the same people. Don't know where the 1678 dob comes from, but it can't be correct for a woman that was on her 2nd marriage and had several children by 1688. Deposition places dob at 1667.

The parents should be detached from this profile since they did not live in Virginia. Their children were born in Swansea, Bristol, Massachusetts between 1672 and 1686.

That does not square with what we know of this Watts family. How are you coming up with a Massachusetts connection?
