Biography
Myrtle Masters was born in 1891 in Murray Township, Ontario, and was with her parents there in 1901. In 1909 or 1910 she married William MacAlpine. In 1916 and 1921 they were in Pibroch, Alberta, but by 1932 they were in Lambton County, Ontario: Oakdale 1938, Florence 1953-1957, Alvinston 1962-1972. They had eleven children, nine born in Alberta and then two in Ontario. William died in 1972. Myrtle died in 1993 in Petrolia, Ontario, age 102, and was buried with William and two of their children in Rickard Cemetery, Euphemia Township.
Notes
Since 1998 Wooler (and Murray Township) are part of the municipality of Quinte West, geographically within but administratively separate from Hastings County, Ontario.
According to her grandson Ron MaAlpine, writing 10 November 2022, Myrtle'smaiden name was Lul Myrtle May Masters.
Myrtle's father lived with her from age 101 till his death at 103 in 1953.
