Biography

  • Frank McElreath was born in 1888 to William McElreath and Lois May. He was born in Douglasville, Georgia.
  • In 1900 the family was living in Athens, Clarke, Georgia. Frank was eleven years old and in school. [1]
  • In 1910 the family was still living in Athens, Georgia. Frank was working as a shipping clerk at a packing company. His father had passed in 1905. [2]
  • In June 1917, Frank and Julia were married and living in Athens. He registered for the WWl draft. He is described on the registrar's report as being of medium height and build with brown hair and eyes.
  • At the time of 1920 census, Frank and Julia Kittle were still living in Athens. Julia's sister, Leithia was living with them and working as a telephone operator. Frank was a broker for a wholesale beverage company. [3]
  • The 1926 city directory for Athens shows Frank working at the New Manhattan Cafe. [4]
  • In 1930 Frank and Julia were still living in Athens. They had one child at home. Jean was five years old. There were also two boarders living in the home. Frank was the proprietor of a pool room. [5]
  • The 1931 city directory for Athens shows Frank at billards 131. [6]
  • Frank died 16 October 1965 in Athens Georgia. He is buried in Oconee Hill Cemetery in Athens, Clarke, Georgia. Find A Grave Website
