Date: ABT 1270

Place: Menteith, Perthshire

• Alan Stewart, 3rd Earl of Menteith was the son of Alexander Stewart, 6th Earl of Menteith and Maud (?).1 He married Marjory (?).1 He died before 13 March 1309.

• He gained the title of 7th Earl of Menteith circa 1300.

Death

As a supporter of Robert Bruce, he was captured at the Battle of Methven, and given to Hastings' disposal. Menteith was committed to Abergavenny Castle; he died a prisoner before 13 March 1308/09^[2]
