1643 Arrival in Rehoboth, Bristol, Massachusetts [2][3]
married on 24 "10th month" [December] 1662, Robert Miller and Elizabeth Sabin in Rehoboth, Bristol, Massachusetts[4][5][6]
Robert Millard, like his father, was a tanner. During King Phillip's War, he served under Captain William Turner[7][8] at the Falls Fight.[9] He is shown on a 26 January 1676/7 list of people that contributed to the costs of the war; contributing 5 pounds, 17 shillings and 6 pence. [10]
Compendium of American Genealogy Volume VII, p. 94 says he went to Warren, Rhode Island.[11] This was probably the other Robert Millard.[12]
Robert Millard died 16 Mar 1699. His burial place was Kickemuit Cemetery, Rhode Island. [13][14]

I don't see a problem with showing "Miller" as an alternate surname since it was recorded in his marriage record. Millard is shown as his LNAB. Seems appropriate to me. As for the VRs being "reproduced" as you say, I don't think there is a question about the reliability of the transcribed records published by Arnold.
Jillaine one more thought: My rationale for the Gravestone spelling: In the Rehoboth marriage and birth Vital Record's Robert Millard's name is spelled Miller. His gravestone reads: Millard. The gravestone is the one original 'document' from his time versus the reproduced vital records. Additionally one of his grandchildren is and early LDS church descendent who is directly connected to Joseph Smith, their prophet. And they recorded everything. This first LDS generation emphasized family record history upkeep probably because it enhanced their status. I don't know how his named is spelled in equity transactions (land, barter, what-ever). But these were my reasons for going with the gravestone spelling.
Hello (double) Direct Ancestor Here: Help me understand something: LNAB name Miller versus his Gravestone name Millard. Normally I understand your LNAB decisions and I wouldn't dream of interfering but this one 'throws a monkey wrench into my understanding of your goals." Thanks for your help.
Thanks, Leah. I've fixed it; probably what happened is that this profile was incorrectly merged with a later-generation person by the same name. It should all now reflect THIS Robert Millard.
Thanks, Loren; in general, we do not rely on Find-a-Grave profiles for most data on PGM profiles. The exception is information drawn from a gravestone when the stone was clearly contemporary to the time of the burial.

Miller-11786 and Millard-51 appear to represent the same person because: Not 100% positive that these two are the same. They had the same mother initially, who was an unfortunate result of a bad merge. The John and Robert mallards of Rehoboth were the first sons of John Sr but wife's name unknown. If there wabut I am concerned about the differing death dates. We need a source for the Connecticut one
