TENNESSEE.
Armstead Moffit
At some point Armstead joined James Emmet's apostate group becuase he is listed as being arrested as a leader. See the journal entry under James Emmett. However he did come to Utah in 1850. One of his childeren, William Armstead Moffett was born in Ash Hollow on the Paltte river when they came west. I can not find him listed as part of any particular group that crossed the plains. Wilford Woodruff and Edward Hunter's parties came at about the right times. When he reached Utah he was a blacksmith in Weber County according to Heart Throbs of the West, Vol. 3, p. 207.
