The Right Honourable Charles William Scott, Earl of Dalkeith, son of their Graces, Henry & Elizabeth, Duke & Dutchess of Buccleuch, was baptised on the 24th of May 1772 at St George Hanover Square, London, England.[1]

Charles was the 6th Duke of Queensberry.[2]

Buried on 27 May 1819 at Warkton, Northamptonshire, England.

Died from consumption.

The following biography is copied from Darryl Lundy's, The Peerage website and needs to be edited He was the son of Henry Scott, 3rd Duke of Buccleuch and Lady Elizabeth Montagu.1 He married Hon. Harriet Katherine Townshend, daughter of Thomas Townshend, 1st Viscount Sydney of St. Leonards and Elizabeth Powys, on 24 March 1795 at Lord Sydney's house, Grosvenor Square, London, England.1 He died on 20 April 1819 at age 46 at Lisbon, Portugal, from consumption.1 His will was proven (by probate) on 18 June 1819.1 He was buried on 27 May 1819 at Warkton, Northamptonshire, England.

He succeeded to the title of 4th Lord Scott of Whitchester and Eskdale [S., 1663] on 11 January 1812.1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Earl of Doncaster, co. York [E., 1663] on 11 January 1812.1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Earl of Dalkeith [S., 1663] on 11 January 1812.1 He succeeded to the title of 6th Duke of Queensberry [S., 1684] on 11 January 1812. He succeeded to the title of 4th Duke of Buccleuch [S., 1663] on 11 January 1812.1 He succeeded to the title of 8th Lord Scott of Buccleuch [S., 1606] on 11 January 1812.1 He succeeded to the title of 6th Marquess of Dumfriesshire [S., 1684] on 11 January 1812. He succeeded to the title of 7th Baron Scott of Quhitchester and Eskdaill [S., 1619] on 11 January 1812.1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Baron Scott of Tindall, Northumberland [E., 1663] on 11 January 1812.1 He succeeded to the title of 7th Earl of Buccleuch [S., 1619] on 11 January 1812.1 He was invested as a Knight, Order of the Thistle (K.T.) on 22 May 1812.
