I have a quilt that Aunt Virgie gave to my mother long ago, it was made by her mother, Mary Moore. Virgie was my great-grandfather's (George Parker) sister. I also have a tattered old history book Aunt Virgie gave to my grandfather, Omer Parker, on April 11, l962. She wrote: Omer this book is between 90 and 100 yrs. old, bought by your grandfather Parker, who fought all through the Civil War. He had only one brother, Daniel E. Lee Parker whom always made his home with your grandfather, W. T. Parker, right after the Civil War. The Parkers came from Virginia, near Richmond. After the war, settled in Arkansas, 50 miles due North of Little Rock, Cleburne County. Your Aunt, Virgie Parker White, the last one from a family of 8 children.
