Nancy "Margaret" MULLINS Dutton Memorial Photos Flowers Edit Learn about removing the ads from this memorial... Birth: Aug. 25, 1849 Virginia, USA Death: May 13, 1926 Elkhorn City Pike County Kentucky, USA Daughter of: Isham "Isom" Mullins & Mary "Polly" Ann SANDERS Mullins Wife of: John Wesley Dutton b. Jan. 27, 1850 d. March 10, 1833 Son of: Elias Dutton & Sarah MEEKS Dutton Burial: Elkhorn City Cemetery Elkhorn City Pike County Kentucky, USA "My parents were John Wesley and Nancy (Mullins) Dutton. I was born September 9, 1882 (I was seventy-nine, week before last), at my father's old home on Cumberland Mountain just west of Blowing Rock Gap in Dickenson County, Virginia. My father was a farmer all his life. His parents were Elias and Sarah (Meeks) Dutton. My grandparents lived in Johnson County, Kentucky-Paintsville being the nearest town to their home. They died in Johnson County, where my father was also raised. I don't know the names of father's grandparents.

Mother's parents were "Wildcat Isom" Mullins and his wife Polly Sanders Mullins. They lived near Isom, Virginia, where George Farmer later lived. He got his name of "Wildcat Isom" because he was such a strong Republican that he had several fights with his Democratic neighbors. They said he kept on fighting even after his clothing were torn off in the fights. One of grandpa Mullins' sons was also named Isom, and he too was called "Wildcat Isom". My Uncle Isom Mullins had a son named Dallas, and he was called "Wildcat Dallas" for the same reason. All of them liked to fight.
